There are many other bands out there, that don't come close to the talent that they have. From Graham Goble, Beep Britles and Glenn Shorrock to Derek Pellicci, Stephen Housden, & Wayne Nelson WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE! Get these guys back together!! Where can I get another copy of there 20th anniversary CD I have wore out both CD's |

I do wish that they'd vary the set a bit more, but I understand. They played a new song called "Some People Never Learn." Great ballad with big hit potential. They just need to find a record company who will spend quality promotion money on it! I must say that my favorite LRB song is a very unusual choice - "When Cathedrals Were White." It appeals to progresive and hard rocking instincts in me! Can anyone provide me with a keyboard transcription of that song? I would be most appreciative! The e-mail is my brother's, so any messages might take a few days to get to to me. So also feel free to contact me at: Steve McAtee; 183 Woodbourne Dr.; New Albnay, IN 47150-2380; USA. Phone (812) 945-2911. By the way, the band was super impressed that I had a Birtles & Goble album and Derek autographed it! All nice guys! By the way, I'm a keyboardist who hopes to begin recording his first album next year. I paln to cover "Cathedrals!" Take care & God bless! - Steve |

Name: John J. O'Neill Website: Referred by: Just Surfed On In! From: Lakeridge, VA Time: 1997-07-07 09:30:00 Comments: Finally. . . a page dedicated to one of the greatest bands of the 70s/80s. I've been a fan since Diamantina Cocktail and still consider those days of the 70s to be the group's finest. I've seen LRB four times in concert the most recent time was last year in Richmond, VA. . .I have to be honest I was disappointed. . . the only familiar faces were Housden and Pellicci and I am sorry but a drummer and guitarist do not a band make. And without Goble and Birtle those tight harmonies that were an integral part of the LRB sound just weren't there. Also enjoyed your comments about Last Romance, I have the LP and would love to see it released on CD. I've slowly been rebuilding the collection on CD since One Way Records started reissuing this stuff in the states. . .complete with Bonus tracks. Again. . .enjoyed your sight. PS - Think the original line up (Goble, Shorrock, Birtles, Pellicci, etc) will ever get back together YET again? I was thrilled when Monsoon came out. I've great respect for John Farnham's vocal capabilties but I realy thought the group was losing its way with Playing to Win and No Reins. Monsoon was a shining return to form. John |

From: Woking, Surrey, ENGLAND Time: 1997-06-23 17:53:00 Comments: I was astounded to find this page alive and kicking, as LRB music is scarce in Britain, just the odd greatest hits tape. I have been a fan since hearing the US charts back in the late seventies when Reminscing was riding high at a time when Barry Gibb had a number of songs in the same chart (the Aussie influence strong at this time, although anybody that was British tried to claim the Bee Gees as Brits). There are certainly no CDs available. I do however have a live concert on laser disc that I treasure and have played over again. Favourite tracks include Long way home, Night Owl, and of course Reminiscing. By the way did you know that Barry Manilow appears to have borrowed Reminiscing for a new musical. Favourite other groups inclde Genesis, Eagles, Crowded House It Bites, and last but not least Elton John ( Pre 1990 !) Please send E mail with any return comments |

I have been a fan since the late 70's, but until tonight haven't seen them live. They are so unbelieveable, they played for us for almost 2 hours tonight in a pouring rainstorm. They played 3 new songs that sound like #1 hits to me as well as the great classics I knew and still love. The thing that amazes me the most is how well they sound compared to the albums. It sounds like the CD when you see them live. Keep it up guys ...! Frank |

I've been trying to find a source for a copy of a LRB concert that appeared on HBO in the early 80's that feature LRB in Sydney with John Farnham. I had the concert on tape, and somewhere in several moves I have misplaced it. It was a fantastic concert and I cannot believe that I have lost it. I called HBO in New York and they said that it would be the property of the band and it's management. Does anyone out there remember the concert or have any idea where I can get hold of a copy? They defined the latter part of my college years, and have been the soundtrack to my husband, Jon, and my 20 year marriage. We've seen them in concert 4 times and have met with the band members after each concert. We have some great photos from all of the concerts, during and after the performances, and an interview video with Derek following their show at the Blue Note in Cincinnati, 1996. We just found out today that they will be in Cincinnati for a free performance on Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati, during "Rock the Square" from 5 PM to 8 PM on Thursday August 14, 1997. We'll be there - you can count on it. Full report later. May try to make it to Paducah in the mean time. |

I've been searching for a while now for information on the best band since the Beatles. I am a long time fan of LRB but have only had the opportunity to see them live twice. Their past tours didn't bring them to the upstate New York area often. However, I did locate the 1997 tour info from "Pollstar" and am very excited about catching them in Chatham NY or possibly Pittsburgh. Although I'm saddened to read that Glenn Shorrak, Wayne Nelson and Graham Goble are not touring, I am pleased to read the excellent reports from those who have seen the current group in concert. Keep up the excellent work on the LRB site and long live LRB and their music! |

I have some photos of the original band from 1981. I got one of them signed by a few of the guys, I was corrected (part of the autograph) by S. Housden as to the date of the photo, but most importantly I finally got to meet Glenn Shorrock. Whew! It ended up being a good day, trying to get the photo signed (an all day affair) really sucked. Thank God for roadies! Keep up the good work!!!! PS- please don't send requests for copies of the photos- thanks |

The first;GLENN SHORROCK-THE FIRST TWENTY YEARS 1985 Contains music from Twilights, AXIOM, LRB, and a lot of solo work. The other is Blazing Salads with former AXIOM band-mate Brian Cadd. I have really enjoyed it. |

It has a Norwegian sound on some of the songs as well as reggae and country. I have been a fan of L.R.B. for 18 years and was beginning to think I was the last one out here so it's great to see the devotion that still exists. This web site is great and I am very pleased. THANKS! |

I've learned a few new things from you. Do you know of any LRB titles available on CD? I have tried, and have not been lucky at finding much of the Farnham era. I have come to enjoy LRB through "You're The Voice". I found John was an LRB member prior to the solo career. Upon listening to LRB's music, I instantly became a fan of all of their music. I have most everything on Album, but want to upgrade to CD. Thanks for being here....I'll check back periodically... |

Name: David E. Timmerman Website: Referred by: Net Search From: Waverly, IA USA Time: 1997-04-17 22:43:00 Comments: G'day - Excellent web site! I have been searching for a LRB web site for quite some time and was pleased to find it. My wife Denise and I will be seeing LRB in concert at Young Arena in Waterloo, IA on April 26th. It will be my 10th LRB concert and my wife's 8th!! We have met the band 5 or 6 times now and they are always a great bunch of guys. Derek is a stitch and Steve Wade, the new lead singer is quite the character. I will send more later about the concerts I have seen over the years. My first LRB show was in 1977 when they opened for Heart in Waterloo, IA. All of the originals were there and it was quite a show. A lot of the fans had never heard of LRB, but my brother and I had rocked to "Help Is On It's Way" for quite awhile and were ready for quite a show. They did not let us down. Like the fan from Emmetsburg, Ia, we were at some of the same shows she attended and will try to find her on the 26th.There is a pre-concert party at Broosters in Waterloo that we are going to. I will e-mail the fan from Emmetsburg and tell her about it. You have my permission to use any of this on the web-site. I will send more after the show along with a recap of the 10 shows I have seen. G'day - David and Denise Timmerman DDTIMERMA@aol.com - the biggest LRB fans in the Heartland!!!! |
