I get a card that was posted in Denver,
she sent a note that she wrote from L.A.,
and she tells me lives in St. Louis now,
you know her story's getting bigger everyday.

She's a fast movin' lady who loves me,
she writes from Utah, then Ft. Lauderdale,
and she talks quite a lot about Jacksonville,
I wonder who it is who's sending this mail ? Oh woah ...

Every night, I sit at home and wonder,
who she is and when she'll let me know,
I can't go out just in case she'll telephone,
just wanna know the name of "D",
